Due to a “family health concern,” Hoda Kotb has been absent from the “Today” show for more than a week. In addition to providing an update on Wednesday’s broadcast of “Today,” Craig Melvin, who co-hosted the program with Sheinelle Jones and Al Roker, also addressed viewers’ worries about Kotb, who has been missing from her NBC morning news program since mid-February.

“As for Hoda, we know some of you are asking how she’s doing,” Melvin stated during Wednesday’s broadcast. “We can confirm that Hoda is well. She has been coping with a health issue involving her family.”

Savannah Guthrie, Kotb’s “Today” co-anchor, was obviously absent on Wednesday morning. She made a brief appearance on Tuesday’s broadcast, but she was forced to leave the programme right away since she tested positive for COVID-19.

Melvin explained Guthrie’s absence by saying, “Savannah—she is at home after a positive COVID test yesterday. He said, “We look forward to seeing Hoda and Savannah back here at the desk very, very soon. We are wishing our friend a swift recovery.”

The most recent time Kotb appeared live on “Today” was on February 17. Kotb was appointed co-anchor of the programme in 2018. Three days later, she made a pre-recorded appearance with Jenna Bush Hager for their “Today With Hoda & Jenna” show’s President’s Day programme. Since then, she has not attended the Network.

Yet, Kotb has been aggressively posting cryptic messages on Instagram for the past week while she’s been absent from her shows.

“Here’s to powerful women,” one of her posts proclaimed. May we get to know them? May we embody them. May we bring them up? Choose hope, said one sign, while “Sometimes miracles are merely good people with nice hearts,” read another.

Her followers were alarmed by the posts and went to the comments area to inquire as to what had happened to her. “Really, what’s up with you? Your truest followers have noticed your absence and these posts, and although I respect your right to privacy, [we] are concerned about you,” one user commented.

Another person asked, “Hoda, could you PLEASE explain what’s happening? This is terribly cruel to you. “Without you, the “Today” show just isn’t the same! Those watching “Today” are going to stop like [flies] if they let you go, so I hope you’re okay. I adore Hoda! “Added a third user.

“Strange that you aren’t replying to everyone who is concerned about you. Off-brand, it seems. Although it is truly none of our concern, because you have previously disclosed so much, it seems to be anticipated. I’m wishing you luck, “Four users spoke up. Kotb, the mother of Haley and Hope, hasn’t made a formal announcement about her absence from “Today” and “Today With Hoda & Jenna” yet.
